The Northern Joburg Media team enjoyed a sumptuous Sunday brunch at Punchinello’s Restaurant at the Southern Sun Montecasino Hotel.

The restaurant is styled like an Italian villa, with fancy decoration and chairs and has a wonderful ambiance. The restaurant has a completely open show kitchen, so you can watch the chefs preparing the meals. There are cameras in the ceiling that transmit the kitchen-action to the in-room TV in the guest rooms!

The selection of food at the brunch buffet was breathtaking. We have rarely seen such a varied choice of dished including a selection of salads, smoked meats and salmon, roast beef, lasagne, kingklip, and many more. There is an awesome variety of desserts, that are definitely not too be missed, so make sure you save room for them.

Service is very friendly and the waitrons couldn’t have been more attentive. The entertainment provided by singer and musician Warren Field and the selection of song he sang were perfect for the venue and lovely to listen to while enjoying such a divine meal.

Punchinello's is a great alternative to the other restaurants in the complex, if you want to escape the buzz at Montecasino for a quite meal, walk 5 minutes to the Southern Sun Montecasino hotel and enjoy this really great place!
There is definitely something for everyone to enjoy the Punchinello’s Sunday buffet brunch - be it the food, music or the service.
