Police say an elderly woman was murdered in Parkview after she interrupted a gang of robbers. The 65-year-old woman arrived unexpectedly from the nursery on Friday, January 27, 2012 and found the suspects in her house.

Once an incident of a serious nature has occurred in any of CSS Tactical’s areas, it is not a common practice within the CSS Ops Department to simply brush it off and leave it as is.

Eyewitness News reports, a Johannesburg police captain was shot dead and a station commander wounded in at the Rosebank Police Station on Monday afternoon, August 1, 2011.

There have been several incidents in the past two weeks.
• In Norfolk Avenue, July 9, 2011 at 7pm three people were wounded in a shooting. Two visitors, in the driveway, were approached by two armed criminals. One of the victims was carrying a gun and a shootout ensued.

There is a serious increase in the spate of criminal activity both within and on the borders of our precinct. Linden for instance experienced 10 House Robberies from midnight on Friday to 11.59pm on Sunday evening.

Two primary school children were injured in a shoot-out during an attempted robbery on the corner of Empire and Queens Road, outside Roseneath Primary School in Parktown today June 24, 2011 at around 11am.
