The Chinese Martial Arts and Health Centre recently had the singular honour of meeting the authentic Shaolin Monks. Due to a massive group booking by the Parkhurst and Fourways CMAHC students for the brilliant “Wheel of Life” show, the monks were anxious to meet the group of traditional Martial Artists who also practise a system of authentic Kung Fu.

The head monk (and trainer) of the Shaolin team, Master Wong, called the CMAHC the “Pioneers of Chinese Martial Arts and culture in South Africa” and was very impressed with the demonstration the senior students performed for his team at their school in Parkhurst.
The monks, in turn, dazzled the CMAHC students with their acrobatic sword work and athletic displays of martial artistry.

In a private tea ceremony, the monks discussed Kung Fu skill, tradition and lineage with the Si Fu Marco Kavalieratos (Head of CMAHC) and top students from the school.

The CMAHC is the only local Martial Arts school that has been honoured by the monks and would like the extend a huge word of thanks to the organisers of the Wheel of Life show for organising such a motivating cultural exchange.
