Max Gebhardt, deputy-editor of the Financial Mail and Parkhurst resident is currently under strict training in preparation for the toughest mountain bike stage race in the world- the Absa Cape Epic.
Gebhardt first started cycling in high school at the age of 16, and his passion for mountain biking started three years ago.

Pirates Club has got off to a great start this year with some nice get together amongst the members and it is great to see everyone again. The turnout for Cricket, Hockey and Rugby has been great but please keep promoting our wonderful club as it is a great place to play sport and meet like-minded people.
Senior Coaches
We are looking for qualified coaches for our premier and other competitive ladies sides. Coaches will need to be available to coach for 1.5 hours one night per week (Wednesday or Thursday TBC) as well as be available on Sundays for the matches.
St John’s College is proud of the excellent results achieved by our Matriculants in the 2011 IEB Examinations. Congratulations to all our Matric pupils!
St John’s pupils once again achieved a 100% Matric pass rate with 92% achieving University Entrance at Degree level.
Pirates Club are hosting a Golf Day at the Parkview Golf Club on October 21, 2011 from 11am.

Craighall Park and Craighall, aka Craigpark, the beautiful suburbs bordered by the Braamfontein Spruit and Parktown North, are to apply to be a CID (City Improvement District). A CID is an initiative started overseas which has worked successfully in the inner city of Jo'burg, Rosebank and Sandton.
"It is all about reclaiming our public open spaces," says Wendy McAllister, acting Chair of the Craigpark Resident's Association. "We want to get the community together again," added McAllister. The overall aim is for a village-like atmosphere to prevail, with amenities that will be used by the residents, resulting in better security. A spate of murders and armed robberies in the area in the past year has galvanised residents into action. Becoming a CID will give the resident's committee the power (and money) to upgrade and maintain the nature of the suburb.
