Policeman shot in the head
A policeman is fighting for his life in the Netcare Millpark hospital after sustaining a gunshot wound to the head. Exact details that lead to the shooting will remain a subject for police investigation and comment.
At 11.58am Netcare 911 advanced life support paramedics were dispatched to a call in Lakeside extension one Evaton. When they arrived on scene they found a police officer with a critical gunshot wound to the head. Paramedics realising the severity of the case called for the Netcare 1 medical helicopter with a trauma doctor to be sent to the scene.
“Medics and the doctor worked fervently to stabilise the man and after placing him on a manual ventilator, he was airlifted to the Netcare Millpark hospital for the treatment that he required”, said Chris Botha of Netcare 911.
