Marilyn Visser still critical in hospital after attack

Marilyn Visser, wife of the Parktown North resident Julian Lap who was killed yesterday, is fighting for her life in the Milpark Hospital. www.myparks.co.za was speaking to Amelda Swartz, spokesperson for the hospital.

Visser is in the trauma intensive care unit and so is her son, Julian Lap. He is in a stable condition.

Police were 45 minutes late in arriving at the scene because of a mix up at radio control. Senior Superintendant Moodley of the Parkview Police said that radio control initially contacted the wrong police station, and he said it was "most unfortunate".

Vaughan Hansen, a neighbour, took the boy to the Rosebank Clinic, and Netcare arrived to transport the woman to hospital.

Most unfortunate!?

a R600-million system is put in place and we are assured that this sort of thing won't happen. Then this happens. Assurances mean nothing. This isn't a call centre for a helpdesk. It is life and death. Not off to a flying start.
