Greenside High hosts Mary Metcalfe

Greenside High School held an information evening on 5 March, where Professor Mary Metcalfe was the guest speaker.

Metcalfe was formerly the Gauteng MEC for Education and is now the Head of Wits University’s School of Education.

In introducing Professor Metcalfe, Greenside High School Principal Nicky Whyte stressed that people – teachers, learners and parents - were at the heart of the school’s success over many years.

Metcalfe complimented Greenside High for its excellent academic performance and the “social and ethical” performance of its learners. She advised, however, that although Greenside High is acknowledged as one of the Top 10 Schools in Gauteng, it must constantly strive to be even better.
