Cheating won't be tolerated

702 Eyewitness News reports as matric learners write their language papers on Monday the Education Department says there have been no problems so far.

Nearly 600 000 matric learners began their final exams last week under the new outcomes-based education system.

The department's Lunga Ngqengelele is confident learners will not cheat this year as compared to previous years.

"We are making sure that those found cheating will be dealt with and this will send a message that copying will not be tolerated," said Ngqengelele.
