Calling all animal lovers

What: An Anti-Fur Protest
When: Saturday 29 November 2008 at 11H00 and 13H00
Where: The Firs Shopping Centre, corner Bierman and Oxford Roads, Rosebank
People planning to attend must be aware of the following rules of the protest:

-The protest will be attended by a group of animal lovers and NO SPECIFIC ORGANIZATION. We are not protesting to promote any organization, but only to stop the fur trade. We are, however, allowed to mention that we are representatives of various organizations, if questioned by the press.

-NO vehicles (including motorbikes) are allowed to be a part of this protest. Protestors are allowed to park their vehicles in the parking of The Firs.

-NO protestor is allowed to have the name Erich Fischer on his/her banner. It is Robert Fischer's right to take legal action, should anyone do so.

-NO person is allowed to wear any leather clothing. Leather is fur traders' favourite argument to justify their trade, let's not give them any unnecessary ammunition!

-Every protestor HAS to confirm with me. I need a list of all the protestors so that I can send the list of rules to everyone before the protest. Of course, any registered protestor is allowed to bring a friend or family member on that day, even if their name is not on the list, provided that the person is aware of all the rules.

-NO disruption of traffic or any damage to any property is allowed. No protestor is allowed to confront Robert Fischer or protest in front of his shop.

-6 Marshalls have been appointed and will be wearing black. All other protestors are therefore requested to stick to any other colours.

These were the terms and conditions under which permission of the protest was granted. An indemnity form has been signed with the Metro Police to ensure all protestors will adhere to the rules and that the protest will take place in an orderly manner.

Please do take note that every time a protest for animals and against abuse is held, it is a huge opportunity for us to show the world that we are force to be reckoned with and not one to be sidelined as easily as we are now.

Until the day that 1 000s of animal activists and those that care stand together to say "so far and no further", bunnies will be killed, hunting will continue and battery farming will become worse and not better. It's not just about ONE issue, it's about making a statement, that we are loud and proud to be Bunnyhuggers.

If you really really care as so many of you say you do and if you really want change, then step up to the plate and be there!

For those of you in Cape Town, please do join Lejane and Anita at the V & A Waterfront at about 11am wearing anti-fur T-shirts.

Let's be the loudest subtle protestors we can be.
